It was a solid week. We played some kickball in Gallup on Monday. I’m mightily considering doing the kickball intramural at BYU in the future.
Let’s see… the baptism was super cool. JoJo was able to baptize Kaylin and he loved it! He’s incredible! Both of the girls (Camryn and Kaylin) have been waiting for quite some time to be clean from their mistakes and be made pure.
Something cool this past week, for me, is the power of the Book of Mormon to those lacking hope. I was reading in 1 Nephi 13 about the beginning of the United States of America and religious freedom. Nephi wrote down this prophecy around 600 years before Christ was even born! About how an inspired man (Columbus) came to America and how religious freedom was necessary for the fullness of Christ’s gospel to be restored to the earth through Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon truly is a sacred book for us in these days. I love it and cherish it.
Here’s the words of Pres. Benson in 1986 on the Book of Mormon: “It is not just that the Book of Mormon teaches us truth, though it indeed does that.It is not just that the Book of Mormon bears testimony of Christ, though it indeed does that, too. But there is something more. There is a power in the book which will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious study of the book. You will find greater power to resist temptation. You will find the power to avoid deception. You will find the power to stay on the strait and narrow path. The scriptures are called “the words of life” (D&C 84:85), and nowhere is that more true than it is of the Book of Mormon. When you begin to hunger and thirst after those words, you will find life in greater and greater abundance.”
I’m really loving Tohatchi and learning and preaching the gospel. I’ve seen many miracles over the past 9 months and it take a while to write them all down.
Here’s the top 3 colors on the reservation: 3)Dark brown 2)Light brown 1) Plain brown. And I’ve yet to see a Cactus!
Love you all! Have a good week! thanks for the support. Also, I’ll be in Tohatchi for another 6 weeks with Elder Bowie!
