(Cindy Writing) Elder Woodbury served in Montezuma Creek Utah for 12 weeks and is now serving in Crownpoint New Mexico. It is about 60 miles Northeast of Gallup. About 90% of the people living there are Native American. The Elevation is 6982 feet. This may explain why they had snow on May 18 and 19th. (See picture)
(Now from Jeffrey’s notes) “Here’s a very rough road. The speed bumps are the smoothest part of the road.“
“Michael and his dad. Michael’s excited for his baptism in 3 weeks”
We received a note from the senior missionaries serving with him last week.
“We are Senior Missionaries in Crownpoint and are enjoying the association with your son. He is an awesome missionary and we appreciate his leadership here in this ward. We are excited to get to know him better over the next few months. He works hard and tries very hard to help the members. Here are a few pictures taken recently: He is helping with a garden project. They chopped wood and fed the horses for a widow in our ward that does not have any water to her house.”
From Jeffrey’s notes, Harley’s baptism went great! We visited her and her family this past week. She’s 1 of 11 kids. 6 of the girls got baptized in March, and then Harley this past week. We’re working with one of her brother’s named Adam. He’s 16 and isn’t sure if he wants to be baptized or not.
This is the Lee family. They’re the family that took us to Hovenweep.
“True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior. The study of the doctrines of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior. Preoccupation with unworthy behavior can lead to unworthy behavior. That is why we stress so forcefully the study of the doctrines of the gospel.”
We went to a hidden sand dune. It was about a half mile walk to get there. It was pretty cool! These are the desert photos.
